The next level...

The horseshoe picture is fantastic, isn't it!

But now my friends it's time to go to the next level...

How about the ballerina?

Is she dancing clockwise or anti-clockwise???

THE Right Brain vs Left Brain test ... do you see the dancer turning clockwise or anti-clockwise?

If clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain and vice versa.

Most of us would see the dancer turning anti-clockwise though you can try to focus and change the direction; see if you can do it.

LEFT BRAIN FUNCTIONS
uses logic
detail oriented
facts rule
words and language
present and past
math and science
can comprehend
knowing
acknowledges
order/pattern perception
knows object name
reality based
forms strategies
practical
safe

RIGHT BRAIN FUNCTIONS
uses feeling
"big picture" oriented
imagination rules
symbols and images
present and future
philosophy & religion
can "get it" (i.e. meaning)
believes
appreciates
spatial perception
knows object function
fantasy based
presents possibilities
impetuous
risk taking

  1. Totally cool! I saw it both ways. When I first looked at it I was concentrating and thinking about it and saw it counter-clockwise, but then my gaze shifted to the face of your dog in the left side and I started thinking what a cute dog and out of the corner of my eye I notice she was revolving the other way to clockwise, then she stayed clockwise. Then I read the explantion, so I guess I have a bit of both in me. I thought it interesting that when emotion was going on in my mind and I wasn't paying attention to the "task" she shifted her dance!! Did that happen to anyone else?

  3. Very interesting post. I saw her clockwise, but did manage to get her to turn counter-clockwise. It took a bit of effort for me to see her that way, and she would shift back to clockwise quite easily. Guess that means I'm definitely right brained. I will have to test my husband on this. I suspect he will see her counter-clockwise!

  5. I at first saw her counter-clockwise, and it took a lot for me to see doing clockwise. Very interesting!

  6. I myself start seeing her usually turning clockwise (right brain), if I concentrate on her she keeps turning that way, but when I let my concentration fade away she might change direction.
Sometimes I am able to "make her turn" but it takes practice.
I think the "trick" is to stop thinking too much, If I let myself pull into it, if I let my focus melt she starts dancing both ways in short intervals... funny.
@ Kelly.. I think as soon as emotion "kicks in" the right brain takes over (feelings) and we should see her turn clockwise... if the explanation is correct.

Thank you ALL for joining in and sharing your experiences!
