Oh, give me land, lots of land under starry skies above,
Don't fence me in.
Let me ride through the wide open country that I love,
Don't fence me in.
Let me be by myself in the evenin' breeze,
And listen to the murmur of the cottonwood trees,
Send me off forever but I ask you please,
Don't fence me in.
Just turn me loose, let me straddle my old saddle
Underneath the western skies.
On my Cayuse, let me wander over yonder
Till I see the mountains rise.
I want to ride to the ridge where the west commences
And gaze at the moon till I lose my senses
And I can't look at hovels and I can't stand fences
Don't fence me in.
Oh, give me land, lots of land under starry skies,
Don't fence me in.
Let me ride through the wide open country that I love,
Don't fence me in.
Let me be by myself in the evenin' breeze
And listen to the murmur of the cottonwood trees
Send me off forever but I ask you please,
Don't fence me in
Just turn me loose, let me straddle my old saddle
Underneath the western skies
On my Cayuse, let me wander over yonder
Till I see the mountains rise.
Ba boo ba ba boo.
I want to ride to the ridge where the west commences
And gaze at the moon till I lose my senses
And I can't look at hobbles and I can't stand fences
Don't fence me in.
No.
Poppa, don't you fence me in

What freedom! I love the wildness of the horses. I remember when ours would get spring fever...they would celebrate in the same way...running and kicking their hooves! Fun song too. Love the old radio tunes-so cosy---as is your pretty dog in front of your White (!) fireplace-do you ever use it?! Enjoy the freedom of this day, HBFG <3
ReplyDeleteYour horses are so beautiful, and the song, well, that says it all. Very nice post.

Everybody looking very much at "home" already. Turnout on the Midsommar day...seems very appropriate. It's the horses solstice celebration! Glad to see them all looking so happy! Oh Happy Day!
ReplyDeleteThe horses look so happy to be out in their wonderful new pasture! I enjoyed the Gene Autry song. It's been a while since I listened to that one.
ReplyDeleteYour horses are very beautiful. It looks like you have a very nice set up.
ReplyDeleteWow! Lovely horses! That horse brings back memories. My mom used to listen to Bing when I was a kid.
ReplyDeleteFun to listen to now.
