Most of it is stacked!

Remember this pile of firewood?
It got delivered friday evening and we thought it would sit there all week...

and now, Sunday evening, almost everything is stacked.
This is the first part of the stack, we got it done yesterday...

And this morning we started the second part, just the two of us - with a little help of Aaron.
The only problem was that he thought he would help us by digging holes in the ground and carry firewood out of the shed instead of into it... *lol*

But luckily we got unexpected additional help after lunch... REAL HELP! :)

Little Edith and her parents came by and within one hour most of the pile was gone.
Look at this wonderful stack of firewood!
My grandfather would be very happy to see that, he loved that kind of work.
But I am sure he would have done it even nicer, he was very fussy when it comes to stacking firewood!

We couldn't have done it without the help of our friends, thanks guys!

I've mesured the stack and calculated how much it really is.
I couldn't believe that this is a little more then 10 cubic meters. Yeeha! Winter can come! :)

In the next couple of days we'll deal with the second, smaller pile right in front of the garage doors...
maybe we'll get help again! *lol*

Have a great week everyone!

  1. Nice stacking! I know that good feeling you're having! We cut and stack about 10 cord of wood every year. A cord is 4ft x 4ft x 8ft. It's a lot of wood. But it sure feels nice to know you are ready for a winter!

  2. Looks very neat and tidy to me. :) I'm surprised Aaron didn't make his own stack elsewhere. :) Our Erik tried that when we were stacking a couple of months ago. We convinced him to get with the program, though and put it in the right place.

  3. Great to have such helpful neighbors, including their little daughter. But, I don't really think you want to rush into winter even with all that wood ready. We've had a very hot day here on the VA eastern shore, but air conditioning is nice!

  4. must have gained a few muscles this weekend! That is a lot of work, but will be worth it this winter (but I don't want to think about winter right now--summer is just starting!). Glad you got some help...

  5. What a cutie she is...surely she isn't responsible for all that stacking...LOL...Good friends are WONDERFUL!!! Delightful tribute to the everyday...and beautiful of friendship...This brought huge smiles for me!!! Hope you have a wonderful week!!! ~Janine XO

  6. Hallo Freunde!
Fleißig wart ihr und sehr schön gestapelt habt ihr. Natürlich mit Hilfe, versteht man ja.
Jetzt kann der Winter euch nichts mehr anhaben.

  7. Just stopping by to say "hi!" ~Janine XO
